BIOSUN DESIGN SYSTEMS* is a system of architecture which integrates several factors to create environmentally sensitive "green" architecture combined with energy saving and flexible design for living.
BIOSUN DESIGN SYSTEMS*
Incorporates orientation to the sun and solar gain with garden space in the interior of the “green” building and its underlying soil and rock layers for thermal storage as well as variable openings to admit wind and air flow, and the shape and architectural planes of the “green” building. There are no panels or solar hardware, and the construction cost is the same or less than conventional buildings.
The BIOSUN DESIGN SYSTEMS* interior garden is more than solar thermal mass; it supplies oxygen to the people, and provides a calming and natural environment regardless of exterior conditions. The principle is that solar heat comes in through the skylights and windows, warming the plants, water and soils, and that the warm air circulates very slowly displacing cold air and warming the entire interior space. When cooling is needed, the airflow is directed to pass over the water and plants circulating slowly with outside air to cool and displace the hot air. The architectural design is carefully implemented so that the cold and warm air will circulate at very low velocity. There is no forced airflow, just a gentle circulation that cleanses the air and moderates the interior temperatures between night and day, winter and summer. Because there are so many elements to be directed and controlled, each “green” building is designed for its individual site, orientation, climate factors and uses. The size of the “green” building is flexible as is the arrangement of rooms and other elements. BIOSUN DESIGN SYSTEMS* adapts to a variety of uses and climates, which due to its solar orientation and “green” building architecture uses far less gas and electricity. It is a most delightful atmosphere in which to live and work.
